client Illumina

challenge
Develop a cohesive next generation design language for Illumina’s healthcare and scientific software and instrument (genetic sequencer) software interfaces–known as Illumina's Design DNA.

results
After a holistic review of Illumina’s main products and offerings, three categories of UI needs were defined: marketing, instruments, and software suites. As the marketing sites were for different audiences, I chose to focus on the instruments and software (the results were later shared with the marketing team).

There were minor differences between the UI needs of the instruments and the software suites but overall, I was able to create a cohesive design system that elegantly brought together all customer facing products.
